The American Health Care Act bill (the replacement for the PPACA) was scheduled for a House floor vote on Friday, March 24th. However, the bill was pulled at the last minute due to lack of Republican support and the probability that the bill would not pass anyway. For now, the GOP has turned their gaze away from healthcare and are focusing on tax reform.
This means that the PPACA is still the law of the land. PPACA requirements and penalties remain fully applicable, and will remain until replaced with something different. As an employer, it is important to continue focusing your efforts toward PPACA compliance and meeting important deadlines that may affect you.
